TWICE AS NICE

Hi gang I keep getting later and later. We had the greatgrand kids over to make pictures. I did manage to get a few. I will post a couple tomorrow. I hope every one has a good night, enjoy all the little critters and don't forget the adults being dragged along.

Leslie ask me what my favorite treat was on Halloween? It was candy popcorn balls! I loved them. Course I have not had any in longer than I can remember.

Thought for the day, if you are out tonight PLEASE drive safely and don't get angry at those out having some fun!

MAMA”S ADVICE

Hi gang I would be hard pressed to tell you where the day went to. In fact my wife asked me and I said I, ah, dooon’t no! This whole thing of keeping track of time is for those who want to or need to. I don’t want to have to worry about time any more! So I don’t!

This is the big weekend for the kids big and small to growl and howl! So put on a new face and get out there and fool the dead with your deeds of mischief and dread have fun and remember a good which is the one who gets you home in one piece, enough said…!

Mama said I shouldn’t drink and drive!!!

Thought for the day, remind the little ones to take the candy home and sort through it before eating any of it!

EXTREAM MAKEOVER

Higang I am late tonight. Just have not been able to get my act togather this evening. I had a great day not a hole lot of pain, got my walk in plus some streaching. I think all the fresh air went to my head. My granpa use to say son, breath deeply of Mother Natures fresh air. It will always give you a high!

I no all of you have seen or heard of the TV show extream make over. I ran across this today...!

It's the ultimate in home repair: hundreds of rooms, a century of fire damage and neglect - and steadily mounting wear and tear from 7 million visitors a year. China is at work on the first full-scale effort to restore the imperial grandeur of its 584-year-old Forbidden City, the world's biggest palace and former residence of 24 emperors...

Thought for the day, having a good day is like health in the bank!

TONIGHT

Hi gang your over the hump! Start planning that weekend now. I had to roll out of bed this morning sore all over. Course my hip was still hurting so after lunch I took my walk I use to do every day. I thought I was going to have to call a taxi to get back. I feel a little better this evening. I have got to get back in shape. My will power has been replaced by cake and ice cream!

I am sure by now all of you have heard what to night is? A real Halloween treat. Blood Moon…

From what I remember people from all over the world will see the extravaganza except Austria. It is cloudy here so I don’t think we will get to see it either so I am relying on you guys to watch it for me. This link will fill you in on all that will take place and why check it out!

I also ran across one of Marks sports stars today with a high-class person. What price fame!

Last I could not get on bloger all day are anyone sight that had bloger? About 4:00pm I got on I have no idea what that was all about.

Thought for the day, I wander how much love potion No. nine will be sold this week!

BamaBell

Hi gang Monday flew by for me, I hope all of you had a great day! We received good news, my daughters test were benine! Glade that is over. Now if we can just get her to quit smoking. She has cut back but that is not going to cut it and she knows it.

I had to go down town today and thought I would get a few pictures to share with you guys. They have been working on a section along the river named river walk. This project will extend over many years of development. Right now they have build parts of the walkway and bike trail and several small parks.

Today I went to the newest section opened and got pictures of the park and bridges. Also tied up at the park is the home of the BamaBell…

She is a sweet little thing!

They have sunset cruses and supper on Friday evenings check it out!

This part of the river (Black Warrior) is historic. I will have to do a post on it.

Thought for the day, looking across the river today I thought of all those who have stood in the same spot hundreds of years ago!

LOSER

Hi gang hope every one has had a wonderful weekend. It has been awfully short! It feels like it should be Friday evening. Everyone who feels like that raze your hand! Hum...! I know how you feel. Brent put your hand down we need you at work to catch the bad guy. You too Clark who is going to put out the fires? Sue PLEASE, you have to go to school. Why, why... Sue, you are the principal!

We don't like the word lose! However some one has to be second best. I don't like the look on peoples face when they have lost. So depressing! Here in town we have a news paper that has nothing but losers. The name is Lenards Losers. They post all the predicted losers in the football games.

This weekend has been full of losers for me. Bama lost to the Voles, VJ Sing lost at golf and Jr. Lost the Subway 500. I would like to say I lost some weight but I think I gained a few pounds! Oh well we all will just have to go out and kick Ares this
week! We are WINNERS even if we come in second! This picture says it all!

Thought for the day, better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all!

CONTUNED LOOKING GLASS

Hi gang I was going to get an early start on the yard this morning but started blog walking. You no once you start it’s hard as heck to stop. I read so many great blogs I just love them and look forward to your post every day.

We enter the prison on Friday, Sat., and Sunday 7 to around 7 it is a long
Day but goes by fast. They have pill call morning, noon and night. I had worked several weekends but this was the first one where we got into the medication. The inmates shared what they were taking and why. Not all would talk about it.

Sating next to me was a large verry muscular man who worked out with weights every day. He was in the best shape of his life. After getting his medication and taking it, he looked at me and said, I will be ok in a few minutes.

I ask him if he was feeling bad and he said no but was starting to feel jumpy. I didn’t know what to say, he said when he gets like that he knows he has to have his medication. Without it he would have to be locked up because he becomes violent!

He was a perfect gentleman. Well mannered and was involved in all our table discussing. We became friends and had our free time together. I was glade he was my friend you would not want to be on his bad side.

It was a great weekend a lot of men came closer to their faith that weekend. My friend did too. On Sunday after noon my friend knew we would be leaving soon and wanted to talk. He ask me if I wanted to know what he was in far? This is something we don’t ask on the weekend. If they want to share we leave that up to them.

I killed my wife! I don’t know why but I was not shocked at his statement. He went on to say he had some problems and got off his medication. He and his wife got into an argument and he in a fit of rage killed her. I would have killed again if not taken into custody. I have the rest of my life to think about what I have done. I no I am forgiven by God but it is hard to forgive myself!

These are old statistics I sure the numbers are higher now. In 1996 there were 18 million in America with mental illness! In most cases with the proper treatment these people can live a happy productive life. They are not a threat to the society.

It takes dedicated people to work with the mentally ill. This is something you must love to do or you should not be evolved at all! I cannot over info size this. It breaks my heart when I hear some one say kill him. That’s the answer for his crime. If that is the answer my friends why are all our prisons full and we are trying to find money to build more!

KILL the unborn, mentally ill, crippled and yes even the old aged what good are they!

I said I was not going to preach! I just hurt inside for all those who can’t help themselves! Shalom!

Thought for the day, there is only one peace that the world has yet to understand!

‘LOOKING GLASS’

Hi gang Friday is about over and you have a little free time on your hands enjoy every moment! I had a Doctors appointment today the first in five months. Not all rosy but I am not dead. Nor should I be in the near future. No flu shoots! However I did get a big niddle in my right hip for pain. He thinks I may have bersides. What next! Oh well bunch of other stuff, just more to complain about.

I would like to share with you an experience I had several years ago now in a Prison Ministry called Kiros. No, I am not going to preach tonight grossly not gulified for the job! This is a nondenominational ministry geared at bring christen values to prisons across the country. In short it means a short teaching.

The weekend is broken into table groups with two laymen (or laywomen in women’s prison) and four to six inmates. There is a discussion after each presentation given.

On one weekend I came face to face with the fine line of mental illness, drug abuse and life and death over adhering to a drug program. Think far a moment what it takes to keep an automobile going. Gas, oil and electricity, assuming the engine is in good shape.

Our system is like this too. We need water, food and a fine tuned brain.

I was at a table with an inmate who had mental problems but was ok as long as he was on his medication. Every day a guard would come in by us and announce pill call. I had never thought about it. I thought it was headaches colds etc.

It had never donned on me that with out their medication they could not function…! I can see this is going to be a little longer than normal so I will break it up and post the balance tomorrow.

Thought for the day, it is amazing how we assume we will be here tomorrow!

LOOKING GLASS'

Hi gang I am running late tonight. I had a lot of running around to do today wit one of my grandsons. Then my wife had a marathon phone call with our oldest daughter in Chicago. So here I am packing away. I am making this short tonight because I want to talked to you about some articles and blogs I have read that show indifference to a subject I am close to. Maybe I can get it done before I go to the doctor tomorrow or after.

‘NEW OLYMPICS’

Hi gang hump day is almost over I have not done much but lay around today. Sort of got that boa feeling. Didn’t get to play golf this week. I may be having with drawl pains!

Three of my kids are painting the office building where my wife works on the inside. I belive it has about ten rooms. My painting sucks! It takes me two days to do a little room. I keep going back over it. I was not asked to help! (Gees)

You may have heard they are talking about putting golf in the Olympics. We have world match play now so why they would want to I don’t know. That’s questionable but how about this…?

These young ladies are gamers! They have a team and travel Europe competing with TV games. Why not?

GIVE US THIS DAY'

Hi gang Monday shoot by for me I hope all of you had a great day. I had to take my grandson to town today for a test. My wife had to go with my daughter far voice box biopsy. So it has been one of those days. I loaded the car to take cans in but never made it back into town. Had to pick Megan up at school. I just ran out of time.

We are always talking about the dread of Monday. Today I started thinking of all those who are glade it's Monday. Those who were down over the weekend. Those who have to clean up the mess we leave behind from our weekend fun. So here is to those who like Monday...

SUNDAY

Hi gang the weekend is fast closing, hope every one is well and rested! It has been a low key day at home today. My son and daughter worked in the back most of the day. Burning and cleaning. I try not to get into work on Sunday to me it should be a day of rest.

Anyway what do you do on Sundays? When the kids were small we use to take long drives in the country and eat somewhere new. My wife spends about every Sunday visiting her mom. I am normally watching golf which I did today. Sunday...

Hi gang the eagle has flown! TGIF, put another week in the record books. I hope you have had a good one. All in all not a bad week. I have an acquaintance that always measures everything on a scale of one to ten. It drives me nuts to here him ask how would you rate that on a scale of 1 to 10. He asked me one time about something I had to do. How would you rate that and I said I would give it a C and he gave me a weird look. So I told him it was mutable choice! Would you belive he has never ask me again! Go figure!

I know all of you have wanted to post something and instead posted something else. What did you do with that post? Some times I delete it or it stays in my documents. Tonight is the night for a few of these tad bits…

These are two tennis players I promised to clear lake reflections. Russian sports stars.

This is a picture of the new smart cars to be released in Canada this fall. I forgot to post.

‘THREE IS A CROWD’

Hi gang we are being invaded from Canada! Sure as shooting the cold wind and rain is rushing down on us and is it cold! How cold is it? So glade you asked, it is so cold when my dogs went out back they stopped at the door far a blanket!

I know all of you have heard that death normally travels in three but not problems! Well guess what they do too. Yesterday car trouble, it worked out ok.

Today wham bam I could not get the heater to light. I worked on it far four hours with no success. Had to call out a heater repair- person. $ Big bucks just for the service call! I thought well the car off set this repair.

The twins were here over night and guess what! My toilet is stopped up! Something has been flushed down the drain and it is stopped up. I had to call a plumber so far he has not shown up

All in all it has been a fast day. I am not jailing! Surprise I have not lost my temper but it is not bead time yet!

DIRECTIONS
Pete and Larry had not seen each other in many years. Now they had a long
talk trying to fill in the gap of those years by telling about their lives.

Finally, Pete invited Larry to visit him in his new apartment. "I got a wife
and three kids and I'd love to have you visit us."

"Great. Where do you live?"

"Here's the address. And there's plenty of parking behind the apartment.

Park and come around to the front door, kick it open with your foot, go to
the elevator and press the button with your left elbow, then enter! When you
reach the sixth floor, go down the hall until you see my name on the door.
Then press the doorbell with your right elbow and I'll let you in."

"Good. But tell me... what is all this business of kicking the front door
open, then pressing elevator buttons with my right, then my left elbow?"

"Surely, you're not coming empty-handed."

Hi gang hope every one had a good hump day! Can you belief I won playing golf today. My game stunk theirs was one shoot worse! I just shook my head. On the course today it was windy and cool. The sun was suppose to be out this afternoon. Some one forgot to tell the clouds that! I went to the Chevy dealership after golf...

I did not sleep good last night thinking what on am going to tell the Service Manager. He was at lunch when I got there had to wait 45 minutes. So I was not in a very good mood when he came back. I introduced my self and started telling him my problem and he said the funniest thing...

What did you say I asked in amazement! I SAID WE WILL TAKE CARE OF IT!
I just stood there grinning! Can you bring the car in first thing in the morning. Yes sir I will have the car here. I said good by went to the car to go home and it would not start! He put a mechanic on it right away. Four hours later I got the car back with That should take care of it! NO CHARGE! (smile)

Thought for the day, some time you just expect the worse!

Where it go?

Hi gang Monday half gone! Hope it is going well for all of you. I saw the sun peak out for about a minut today befor hiding again. I got up this morning and looked down south to check things out and low and behold...! They moved!

Not only did they move they took the state with them! Some one said go north and they did.

I got this in the e-mail today...

GASOLINE SOLUTION!

We CAN buy gasoline that is not from the Middle East. Gas rationing in the 80's worked even though we grumbled about it. It might even be good for us!

The Saudis are boycotting American goods. We should return the favor.

An interesting thought is to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia. Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.

I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil. Importers:

Shell............................205,742,000 barrels

Chevron/Texaco.........144,332,000 barrels

Exxon /Mobil................130,082,000 barrels

Marathon/Speedway...117,740,000 barrels

Amoco.........................62,231,000 barrels

If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION! I think it is up to $40 /barrel now!!! THINK ABOUT IT!!

Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:

Citgo....................0 barrels

Sunoco............. 0 barrels

Conoco............. ..0 barrels

Sinclair................ 0 barrels

BP/Phillips.......... 0 barrels

Hess...................0 barrels

All of this information is available from the Department of Energy and each is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing. They report on a monthly basis. Keep this list in your car; share it with friends. Stop paying for terrorism.............

I was wandering who was bring in the import oil Now we no!

Thought for the day, baten down the hatches the twins are on there way!

‘EYE OF THE EAGLE’

Hi gang hope every one is having a good weekend. It is raining here and is suppose to through Wednesday, remnants from tropical storm Mathew. I am not complaining we need the rain bad!

We went to church last might and then to supper with friends. We got back home late so I did not post. I went to bed tired and full! Not good for the waste line. The more I try to cut back the more I eat.

Think about this for a moment. How would you like to be riding your camel in Afghanistan and here a rumble and see this coming at you…!

This big eagle is stationed in Afghanistan. All it needs is War Eagle on the side!

Alabama, Auburn, and UAB won this weekend!

Thought for the day, rain sure makes me sleepy!

‘FORTE OR FORTWOS’

Hi gang you made it, for our friends up north they have a long weekend, something about being different than the yanks. Thanksgiving in October! Just think they get to scare everyone on a full stomach!

This has been one of those so-so weeks not long but not short. Our cool spell is going to extend into next week. Now if we could just keep it this way. Wander whom you have to talk to in the weather department.

This week the oil price hit the all time high $52.00 a barrel. You will see this ripple around the world. Haven’t you heard it’s time to buy new Rolls Ross in that area? They are not cheap, when you have to match the color with a new castle and Lear jet!

Mercedes to the rescue! There answers buy a midget SUV. That’s right a micro bug excuse me micro car. Also known as smart cars or Fortwos. Mexico has had them for a year. Canada will get them this fall. A dealer in California wants to import 15,000 and hack up the engine to meet US standards. Folks you want to go from this…

To this…

Great gas mileage 70mpg. All plastic, has passed a 40mph collision test in Europe! Cute little bugger isn’t it!

Does this entire sound familiar to you? It should Honda and Toyota started this way and went all the way to the Lexes and Infinity!

You might say yea but Mercedes is already there! You are so observant!

Never fear gang General Motors to the Rescue!

Now before you get frustrated! It has bigger tires, more horse power (twin V-10s). A bigger gas tank (150gal.) Capable of keeping up with the big rigs. Comes standard with a Cobra CB Radio and 5kw kicker! You will be the envy of the turnpike!

Thought for the day, it's a mad mad world out ther gang!

6 BEST POSITIONS IN BED

Hi gang did every one have a good day? It sure went by quick. Bouncing around surfing today I could not help noticing how up tight every one is getting over the elections. Sure it is important but we must love our neighbor not cut their political throat. With this in mind I felt we needed some hummer to cut through all this hate transverseing the web!

Will someone get the lights PLEASE!

WHY ARTE THERE TERRORISTS’

Hi gang hope every one had a good hump day! I have done nothing today but lay around. These ole dizzy spells throw me for a loop. Blog surfing sounds like a lot of people have colds. It’s that time of the year again. Today I heard there would be a flu shoot shortage. Always something!

Another old friend passed today. Mr. Roger Daingerfield. He has found respect! RIP old friend!

Have you ever thought about why the Terrorists are like they are? Here is a few reasons I received via e-mail.

WHY ARE THERE TERRORISTS?

Everyone seems to be wondering why Muslim terrorists are so quick to commit
suicide. Let's see now...

No Jesus,
No Christmas,
No television,
No cheerleaders,
No baseball,
No football,
No basketball,
No hockey,
No golf,
No tailgate parties,
No Wal-Mart,
No Home Depot,
No pork BBQ,
No hot dogs,
No burgers,
No chocolate chip cookies,
No lobster,
No shellfish (or even frozen fish sticks),
No gumbo,
No jambalaya.

Rags for clothes and towels for hats.

Constant wailing from the guy next-door because he's sick and there are no
doctors.

Constant wailing from the guy in the tower.

More than one wife.

You can't shave.

Your wives can't shave.

You can't shower to wash off the smell of donkey cooked over
burning camel dung.

The women have to wear baggy dresses and veils at all times.

Your bride is picked by someone else. She smells just like your donkey.
But your donkey has a better disposition.

Then they tell you that when you die it all gets better! I mean, really, is
there a mystery here?

‘ WHO’S THAT LADY ’

Hi gang cool day here today. I walked this morning and had to ware a windbreaker. Turned out to be a nice day high around 78*

Have not felt well all day today. That ole vertigo came back again. I felt like I was getting a head cold and this morning when I got up the room was spinning.

Several are going to post three things of themselves on their sight. I thought I would do a twist on that and give you three things about one of my favorite blogers. I am not giving too much or you would guess who it was before I get started.

She loves elephants!

Someone painted her cat!

This picture reminds me of her!

Thought for the day, time was invented to show the difference between today and eternity! My granpa use to say that!

Monday, October 04, 2004

Hi gang Monday down! I played golf today and thought this week might be a little bit better! NO, NO, NO! The ball is supposed to go where you want it not left into the woods or right into the woods. I did hit a few nice ones stright into the sad bunkers!

It is a humbling game but you can’t give up! My granpa use to say son, if you enjoy something, never give up because things are going bad. That is unless a soma wrestler sits you on!

Free hand. I was daydreaming out the window and saw this beautiful yellow butterfly hover beside my son’s truck. I thought to my self that would make a purity picture. So out of the minds eye!

Thought for the day, dream a little dream with me!

‘RIEMANN HYPOTHESIS’

Hi gang hope all of you have had a great day! Needless to say it has flashed by my eyes! Oh well I am going to live to be at least 104 based on my mom prediction.

L = P X A div. by A + NP = 104

Where P = Perdition
A = age
NP = Number of years past prediction

P = 40 (in decades 4)
A = Age
NP = Years past prediction

Now to the real math that could shake the world!

Mathematical breakthrough could bring disaster for ecommerce
Solution to Riemann hypothesis could crack cryptography
Mark Samuels, Computing 07 Sep 2004

Mathematicians are close to solving a 150 year-old theory - and the solution could add up to problems for Internet commerce.
The Riemann hypothesis, formulated by George Friedrich Bernhard Riemann in 1859, would explain the apparently random pattern of prime numbers.
Such numbers are the key to Internet cryptography and help banks keep customer's credit card data safe and secure.

Louis de Branges, a French-born mathematician at Purdue University in the US, has claimed to have proof of the Riemann hypothesis, according to The Guardian.
The hypothesis is one of seven 'millennium problems'

Thought for the day, my granpa use to say son, if you can’t figure it out on your hands take of your shoes!

HOT STUFF

Hi gang I would be hard pressed to tell you where today has gone to. I just can't keep track of time. Well so far Bama has lost to South Carolina but Alburn is putting a hurting on Tennessee!

Ernie Eles looks good to win the American Express. $1,000,000,000 not a bad pay check for four days work!

Every one down this way is pulling for JR. At Talladega tomorrow. He is due to win and he loves this course!

I have had this picture for a month to share with you. The story comes out of New York City. They are having under-ground fires and have not pin pointed the problem. Meanwhile man-hole covers are flying through the air from explosions are hot. This young lady found out the hard way. She fall on a man-hole cover and it burned her. Her skate board was reported to be ok!

Thought for the day, the house sure is quite with the kids gone home!

SILENCE

Hi gang what a TGIF! I have such a multitude of choices to talk about it is hard to get started. The grand debate last night, Mt. St. Helen is trying to wake up. A new element has been found in Japan.

Two great football games this weekend, Auburn at Tennessee and Virginia at Alabama. The American Express Championship in Ireland. Ernie Else is leading with Tiger five back.

We have the Twins this weekend and their sister. I could tell a story just on them. They are growing like weeds!

Any of these would make good stories however I would like to tell you about a tiny village I visited on line today.

Changshou Chun, literally the "Village of Longevity''

China, this tiny village has just recently had its first ever foreigner visit their community.

The village has 250 families 1036 total. 127 of these are over 70! Last year their oldest residents died one 105 the other 103.

They credit their longevity to hard work, simple food and good water.
One 90 year old thinks it is their attitude. Smile be happy!

WORK IS A HABIT: "I feel uncomfortable if I do not work in the field," said Madam Liang Damei, 88, as she hoisted a heavy load of fertilisers on her shoulder

Last year the village had 10,000 visitors. All wanting to learn their secret to long life. They’re determined to keep the village from becoming spoiled. They look forward to new positional revenues from the visitors. Taking their little money and building a public washroom and cementing a path along the river. The average income in the village is $650.00 per year.
