Spring Thing or Am I in LOVE

2006 Fields Open in Hawaii

Big Wiesy Finally Earns First LPGA Paycheck

By Associated Press - February 26, 2006
KAPOLEI, Hawaii -- Michel Wie heads back to high school Monday with $73,227 from her first LPGA Tour paycheck and a diamond-encrusted watch from her latest endorsement deal.

The 16-year-old junior at Punahou School was particularly enamored with the Omega watch she was given before the final round Saturday at the Fields Open, where she dazzled a hometown gallery with seven birdies in her round of 66 that left her one shot out of a playoff.

How can some one so tall always seem to come up short on the golf course but not at the bank? She is a teen wonder and idle the fans love her and I must admit I do too!
However when is she going to win a tournament?

She has every thing going for her, looks, age, and sponsors! How many sixteen year old million Aires do you no! She also is very talented, driving the ball three-hundred plus yards down the fairway. Her iron game is also pretty good.

She seems to thrive on the fans attention and they follow her like she is the Pied Piper of golf! I read last night that her third place finish put her in second place on the tour and she has not WON!

My grandpa use to say son,it's not weather you win or loose but how you play the game. Michel has put that in the BANK!

BREATHING A LITTLE EASER

It has been ten days sense our dogs were exposed to the Parvo virus! So for so good! I want to thank every one for your prayers and support. The Vet told me seven to ten days is the critical time for infection but the darn various can live for months! We cleaned good all we can do is place them in the Lords hands.

I am so far behind posting, I don't no where to start. I don't want to make this long and boring so will try to post some every day. First...

Six months after Katherine we finally got the lines up out of the yard!

We were never without power just had the power line, phone, and cable TV line laying in the yard! I had three different electrics out before one came and did the work installing new service to the house updating us to the new city code. The brick mason is suppose to finish his job this week.

My grandpa use to say son, some times you just get lost in the shuffle!

Beyond The Unknown

NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope has identified two huge "hypergiant" stars circled by monstrous disks of what might be planet-forming dust. The findings surprised astronomers because stars as big as these were thought to be inhospitable to planets.
"These extremely massive stars are tremendously hot and bright and have very strong winds, making the job of building planets difficult," said Joel Kastner of the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. "Our data suggest that the planet-forming process may be hardier than previously believed, occurring around even the most massive stars that nature produces."

Some Times You Just Want To Cry

At 7:30am this morning our Vet called and told me Rocky died! Needless to say we are devastated and so is he. He is so up set by what has happened that he is pulling out of the shelter program! It's to late to point fingers! My wife feels I should have left Rocky at the Vets one more day and they would have seen he had a problem! I pick him up a day early to surprise her and take her mind of Rex now she has both of them to morn over!

What's the old saying "dam if you do and dam of you don't"! This is a heavy weight to bare art my age I should be a weight lifter! Now the long Waite to see if any of our dogs have gotten the various! It is a seven to ten day span and this is day four.

I pray that none of them get it! They have been raised from birth by us. Unless you have lost a pet of your on you wouldn't understand how they become part of you family.

One bright spot, today is Megans Birth Day. She has interred the terrible TEENS! Thirteen today! We had a surprise Birth Day Party for her last night! I will post a pic. later. I may not be on line much until this wait is over take care everyone and have a good week!

Rocky Up Date

The little guy just kept getting weaker and weaker not able too eat or even keep water down so I took him back to the vet and told them the puppy can hardly move wont eat!

About seven last night the vet called as he was going home. The puppy has PARVO! He told my daughter they gave him an antibiotic and had him on an i-vie. I asked my daughter what about our dogs and she said he didn't say!

I was upset and called his answering service. The answering service says I can only get in touch with him of this is an emergencies! I went through the ruff! I told her what had happened and that the vet knows I have other dogs and didn't tell me what to do. She said is this and emergencies! I said what do you think and she said I don't no anything about dogs. I told her he has the wrong answering service! THIS IS AN EMERGENCIES have the Vet call me!

The Vet called and went through the whole thing with me. He didn't check for PARVO because the Shelter was suppose to do this! He checked for worms only. End results Rocky will be under observation for a couple of days and may not pull through this!

We had to disinfect the whole house with clorex! I am so angry about this and upset that all my dogs have been exposed to this deadly virus! Today they all have to go in for shots!

Poor little Rocky! We can do nothing but wait and see if he will make it or not! Now the wait is on to see if any of the other dogs has the virus.

I have not felt good the last couple of days and this added stress has taken its toll on me! To make matters worse we have the three great-grad kids this weekend! I love them to death but I am up tight as a new drum!

Trying to Catch Up

I feel like the USA speed skating team last night. They were doing good down to the last lap and the weakest of the team couldn't catch up. I was not a pretty sight. He really put forth all he had and just couldn't Catch Up!

Yesterday was like a blur. I went up to my middle daughters to check on her and get her to go to the doctor. As it turned out he told her the same thing I did. She has just worn herself out with her job and has got to cut back and give her body a chance to heal. I talked to her last night and she was getting some rest but still felt bad.

I went to the gem and worked out. Man it did me in! I too don't seem to have energy to keep myself going! After that I went by and picked up my wife's new puppy. By the way she wants to call him Rocky!

It turns out Rocky is only eight weeks old and must have been just yanked from his mother. I couldn't get him to eat last night and he through up several times. He has to go Pee every hour and man does he go! He want drink water eater! When the Vet come in I will have to call and find out what to do. He wound up sleeping in my room. I put a puppy pad down for him and he slap on it and did his business somewhere else!

I took this of him this morning. He slap good all night and is still sleeping this morning. He followed me to the kitchens to make coffee so I guess he's alright.

One comment, "This is suppose to be my wives puppy"! LOL!

My grandpa use to say son, a puppy will teach you love patients and understanding! DAH!

Home Front Update

Not wanting to go into a lot of detail but just to let you no what has been going on on the home front.

Health issues seem to come to the forefront! My daughter in Chicago is having severe chest pains and suffering from depression. So far they haven't determined what's wrong.

My middlel girl, who has the degenerating nerves in her legs fell getting out of bed and broke two toes! She also has ulcers in her mouth that they haven't determined what they are. She is trying to get on disability but will be May before her case comes up in court.

Her daughter gave full cussed of the twins and their sister to her X! Meanwhile she is running footloose up and down the roads. Can't hold a job, in three months she has lost six jobs!

This also very sad!...
My wife's dog Rex died Monday the 13th. Rex was in poor health and was being treated for a bowl problem and I think the meads were just to much for him. He was 13 years old. He went every where with my wife. Needless to say the whole family was up set. I brought Rex home to bury him out back. My wife had to work late so we were burying him in the dark and man was it cold! I buried him in a spot where my wife could see his grave out the kitchen window.
Good by old friend, you will always be in our hearts...

Seams the good Lord alwas knows when your heartin inside! When my wife stopped off to pay the vet for Rex she was greated at the door by a bouncing puppy...

The puppy was there to be neutered and belonged to our local anaminal shelter. He took to my wife like they were meant to be together. My wife called from work and told me the story and yap, you gusset it we now have Rex 2!

My grandpa use to say son, the death of a pet will bring heated tears and put a scar on you heart but a puppy will ease the pain!

MY HEART ACHES FOR YOU

Be with us in the circle of our love,
Even if by chance you are alone.
Our greetings we have hope your heart will move,
Uniting our good wishes with your own.
Remember there are those who think of you,
Vested in the will to be a friend.
As distant hills give depth to what we view,
Let these words some grace to your day lend.
Each life is lived behind a sheltering veil,
Not lifted but for love. Yet when we will,
There is a wind that shifts the rampart frail,
Invading with sweet scent the spirit still.
Now may we all enjoy this fragrance fine,
Each each other's secret Valentine.
Nicklous Gorden.

I hope every one has a great Valentine's day!

DO BLONDS REALY HAVE MORE FUN

The Blonde Painter:

This blonde decides one day that she is sick and tired
of all these blonde jokes and how all blondes are
perceived as stupid, so she decides to show her
husband that blondes really are smart.

While her husband is off at work, she decides that she
is going to paint a couple of rooms in the house. The
next day, right after her husband leaves for work, she
gets down to the task at hand.

Her husband arrives home at 5:30 and smells the
distinctive smell of paint. He walks into the living room
and finds his wife lying on the floor in a pool of sweat. He
notices that she is wearing a ski jacket and a fur coat at
the same time.

He goes over and asks her if she is OK. She replies yes.

He asks what she is doing. She replies that she wanted
to prove to him that not all blonde women are dumb and
she wanted to do it by painting the house.

He then asks her why she has a ski jacket over her fur
coat.

She replies that she was reading the directions on the
paint can and they said...

(scroll down)... I love this one ...

FOR BEST RESULTS, PUT ON TWO COATS

My gramdpa use to say son, never take advantage of a blond, they will thank you!

TURIN ITALY

The torsh is pased tonight and the hype comes to a head!...
TURIN, Italy – For Bode Miller, the controversies seemed almost contrived, a clear chance to win the competitive pre-Olympics hype, which he did, taking gold ("60 Minutes"), silver (Time) and bronze (Newsweek) in the marketing wars.
View Slideshow

But then he kept talking. And talking. And now, well, it seems Bode Miller may just be a loose cannon, not a PR creation. Either way, the alpine skier finds himself in a no-lose situation, as in, there is no way he can lose and still maintain a bit of national respect.
Go here for complet story!

I have always enjoyed the winter games and I hope you enjoy this years to! Have a great weekend every one!

Project staled

I started a winter home project of converting VHF tapes to CD that my FL had taken over the last twenty years. It is a big job because there AR hundreds of tapes. I have been bring home tapes from the lake and sorting through them. Some had nothing on them so I ran a tape through that was a recorded TV law and order program. When I rewound the tape it broke and so you see the story above in picks.!

Talking to the repairman he said so much of the electronics today are junk! Put to gather by robots and most are to expensive to repair.

This is a story I have heard often over the years from my FL. who had a TV repair shop of his own.

We live in a throw away world where it is in most cases cheaper to buy new rather than repair. Case at point my recorder has a small broken plastic part that twisted into when I rewound the tape!

The part will run around ten bucks but the labor for the repair will run near ninety-five! All because of a cheap design on a moving part! The whole circuit board has to come out to replace the part.

To make maters even worse, the recorder is new given to me for Xmas! Did I hear you say warranty... Ha, my son doesn't have the receipt and therefore no warranty! Only two tapes were played in the VHF and POP, out of business!

My grandpa use to say son, some day you will see the best is just like the rest liking in quality!

Extravagant Beauty

A phalaenopsis orchid is seen in a greenhouse at the Lyman Estate Greenhouses, Tuesday, July 5, 2005, in Waltham, Mass. The Lyman Estate Greenhouses, operated by the preservation group Historic New England, are some of the oldest in the country, dating back more than 200 years.

The Orchid is one of our oldest quest to find perfection in nature! I think they are wonderful! To bad they are to rich for my scant dwelling.

I also ran across this tidbit yesterday that I felt worthy of shearing with you...
‘ Lost World of wildlife found in Indonesia
Expedition found 20 new species of frogs, photographed bird rituals
Very interesting article of the area and its wild life with some pictures You can go here and check out this mountain range.

Have a wonderful day!

My grandpa use to say son, there is nothing more exciting than nature weather in the wild are raw and appealing!

WHERE'S THE FIRE

We had the twins thisweek end their sister was out when I took these. They loved this portable Fire truck and was all over the house with it.

I also started on my VCR to CD project...

Some of the tapes are over twenty years old and you guessed it one broke last night and now the new deck want work! I was afraid this would happen.

I have started sorting tapes and there are several years worth of Laurence Walk, Hard Copy, Austin City Liments, News, and diocumentary. I have two boxes of family tapes and one of Omaha Nebraska family. I still have about a hundred tapes to bring home from the lake!

My grandpa use to say son, if a job becomes over bearing give it to grandma!

A guy is driving around Tennessee and he sees a sign in front of
a house: "Talking Dog For Sale."

He rings the bell, and a blonde opens the door. She tells him that
her dog for sale is in the backyard.

The guy goes into the backyard and sees a Labrador retriever
sitting there.

"You talk?" he asks.

"Yes, I do," the Lab replies.

"So, what's your story?"

The Lab looks up and says, "Well, I discovered that I could talk
when I was pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I
told the CIA about my gift, and in no time at all they had me jetting
from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world
leaders, because no one figured a dog would be eavesdropping.
I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years running."

"But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't
getting any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for
a job at the airport to do some undercover security wandering
near suspicious characters and listening in."

"I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded a
batch of medals. I got married, had a mess of puppies, and
now I'm just retired."

The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks the owner what
she wants for the dog.

"Ten dollars," the blonde says.

"Ten dollars? This is a talking dog!! Why on earth are you
selling him so cheap?"

"Because he's a liar. He never did any of that stuff."

Have a great weekend everyone!

"Worlds Fastest growing city"

UAE Cities

The cities of the United Arab Emirates are actually "Emirates," small locally governed units with federal connections. Dubai is the largest and most traveled to Emirate in the UAE. The capital Abu Dhabi boasts a smaller and more hometown feel to it, but still has the glitz and nightclubs of its bigger brother to the East. Other cities worth visiting are Sharjah, Fujairah, and the desert oasis of Liwa.

I started out wanting to tell you about Tiger playing golf in the Dubai Desert classic. Looking at the sky line with so many buildings under costruction and not knowing where Dubai was located, lead me to this post about this bustlingly city!

The city of Dubai has a free trade in gold and till the 90s was the hub of a "brisk smuggling trade" of gold ingots to India, where gold import was restricted (read the novel Dubai by Robin Moore). Oil reserves in Dubai are less than one-twentieth that of the emirate of Abu Dhabi, and hence oil income is a minor contributing factor to the city's prosperity.

Today, Dubai is also an important tourist destination, bolstered by its rapidly-expanding airline Emirates, which is headed by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, an uncle of the Sheikh. Dubai is also diversifying as a hub for service-based industries such as IT and finance, with the new Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

The government has set up industry-specific free zones throughout the city. Dubai Internet City, now combined with Dubai Media City as part of TECOM (Dubai Technology, Electronic Commerce and Media Free Zone Authority) is one such enclave whose members include IT firms such as EMC Corporation, Oracle, Microsoft, and IBM, and media organisations such as MBC, CNN, Reuters, ARY and AP. Dubai Knowledge Village (KV) is an education and training hub is also set up to complement the Free ZoneÂ’s other two clusters, Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City, by providing the facilities to train the clusters' future knowledge workers.

The city will clame the worlds tallest building status in 2008! This area is intreging to me as I watch the USA becoming less invigerating to growth in it's industrialsectorr!

Another interesting factor is you don't own land in this area as also I see foreign firms buying up land in the USA! The area grows quickly in construction due to cheap labor market! Also known as a learning center Hub! Why pay twenty dollars an hour when you have so many educated people willing to work for half that amount!

The whole growth factor comes down to how much can big business keep in their pocket!
Form those of you who would like to see more on the worlds fastest growing city.

Thought for the day, my grandpa use to say son, always give a fair days labor for your wage. I wonder what that means in cooperate America today?

"The One That didn't Get Away"

I don't no if you can blow this up to read or not, but this was caught over near where my daughter lives! About a forty-five minute drive south east from me.

This is a 21lb. 8oz. Carp caught on a fly line. Broke the state record and is a new world record.

When I was a child we often would load up and go swiming in the Cahaba river. The water is shalow in most parts and you have to look to find any deep water in our area. My most vivid memory was the large Muscel we found in the river. I don't no anythig about them other then we were told they were no good to eat!

Even today I play golf from time to time along the banks of the Cahaba in Centreville, Al. You guessed it "The Cahaba Country Club."

This artical caught my eye because I caught one BIGER In Chicago! I have not found the pics. yet but the fish was a bufalo carp. I was on the Lake front (Lake Michigan) at night bow fishing. I saw a shadow in the water about twenty-five yards of shore and tookm a shot. To my suprise the arrow went throughn the fish and he was caught. I was up and down the pier for what must have been ten minutes befor the gint fish cashed in!

Every one on the pier stared with amazement at the size of the fish. I dident have a camara with me so my wife and the kids loaded up the fish in news paper and headed home. We lived forty miles away in Al Copones old home town Cicero, Ill.

My wife took several pics. of me and the bigest fish I ever caught. The carp weighed in at swenty-seven and a half pounds on our kitchen scal.

After the pic. taken was over I road around trying to give the fish away and couln't find a taker so I wound up puting it in a trash can in a park! I often thought of what people thought of when they emptyed the can and saw that monster fish!

Thought for the day, my grandpa use to say son, fishing is like making love to a strang women, you never no what you may catch!

AskMen.com has published there list of top 99 ladies men admire. This is No 99 hard to belief they get better from here!
99
Anna Kournikova...

Anna Kournikova knows tennis. On the court, she was a tough competitor, master of the racket and graceful beauty all rolled in one. Although Anna never won any major tennis competitions during her 16 years of amateur and professional play, her name became synonymous with the sport. In 2000, she sidestepped the ball to take a small role in Me, Myself & Irene with Jim Carrey and Renee Zellweger. Today, she remains a respected figure in the sports world -- and she’s only 24 years old.

It was young ladies like Anna who got me interested in tennis in my freshman year of high school.

I would spent my summers mainly at the public pool in my home town and ajesent the pool were the tennis courts. I noticed one day that a lot of attractive girls were playing tennis so my curiosity led me too get involved. Actualy I became pretty good spending so much time with my new found treasure!

This was short lived not because of not being liked but because I was too poor to own a car! No car no dates! I didn't let it get me down though. I had a lot of fun and got to no some beautiful girls.

My grandpa use to say son, money isn't every thing but try telling that to a young girl !
