TURIN, Italy – For Bode Miller, the controversies seemed almost contrived, a clear chance to win the competitive pre-Olympics hype, which he did, taking gold ("60 Minutes"), silver (Time) and bronze (Newsweek) in the marketing wars.

But then he kept talking. And talking. And now, well, it seems Bode Miller may just be a loose cannon, not a PR creation. Either way, the alpine skier finds himself in a no-lose situation, as in, there is no way he can lose and still maintain a bit of national respect.
