There has never been so many young talented sports stars. I just saw an interview with a young golfer and his dad. His dad had a successively construction business of sixteen years and gave it up to manage and promote his son in golf! Pure finished and crave for stardom! The son has already won over three hundred thousand dollars this year with a long season ahead!
Then there is Tiger! He has won more that the top ten did in their whole career! He was razed to do this! It's all he has ever known, yet at his tender years with his millions is he happy? Can he truly ever be happy living his fathers dream?
My on personal opinion, the sports industry is out of control, driven by our lust for action, competitiveness and greed! We make their outlandish income by our supporting the events and buying the products that are advertised.
Stop far a moment and think of any known problem in the world! Putting all this concentrated energy in action there would be no problems any where! Just think no hunger, no energy crisis the possibilities would be enormous! The only draw back to this dream would be those who would destroy each other far control!
Thought far the day, my grandpa use to say son, they say that money is the root of all evil. Reality is, mans heart is the root of all evil!

Hi gang, one day to go state side for the holiday. Through the media and the net we have seen and heard that our FREEDOM doesn't come cheap. Please remember those who have made it possible far each of us to be free!
We did get the car port cleaned off. Other than that I have done little. It has rained and is raining and the five day forecast is you guessed it RAIN! In five days my grass will be knee deep! LOL!
I haven't been to the river in a while even though it is just down the road. So I drove down to see what house boats they have for sale. There are two marinas on the river that people live at. I never thought about it until my son meet a girl who lives there. The mooring lot rate is eighty dollars a month plus utilities. I don't know of any where you can live that easy! Any I took a couple of pics. to show you...

Hi gang, well it is all over but getting the Mustang home. The whole world knows that Bo Base lost last night! Hey he is good but I believe the girl was better! I wish both continued success. It is a tuff business to make it in.
Yesterday seams like a blur. I did get the tractor tuned up and oil change. LOL! I had to take the parts back my son got for it, they gave him the wrong ones! It seams no mater what, I never can do a job without having to go to town. Not that bad but still we're ten miles out.
Not much going on. My best friend sent me a pick. of his son and him at the Bruno golf tournament. They were marshals. He said and can't believe how far those OLD guys hit the ball! He forgets we are the old guys that can't hit that far! LOL!

Thought for the day, I stood at the kitchen window watching my blue bird family this morning. We were blessed with two families this year!

Show time
Hi gang, can you believe it's hump day already! At this rate summer will be over before you no it. We had another cold front come through last night dropping the temp. down into the 50s.
Yesterday was a wonderful day for golf. Worm and a nice breeze. The course was in great shape. We haven't played this course since last year. We had a guest play with us from our church. He is a Deacon and a 7 handy-cap! He can play golf! It was a pleaser to play with him. He shot a 77, the closest to him was a 90! To top it off while we were trying to find our balls he found a total of 22 balls for himself! LOL!
We may get rain today and I still haven't done the maintained on my tractor! If I can stay off this putter long enough today is the day! All though I need to clean the house today. I did the dishes last night.
Thought for the day, my grandpa use to say son have tomorrow planed before you go to bed! Now if I can just follow through!

Homer

Hi gang, hope all had a good Monday. We went to Megan’s softball game last night. They pulled out a close one, winning 7 to 6. Her best friend had two home runs! All of us were excited! Meg had two hits and one run the regular season is over next week and then they have play offs.

Today I am playing golf at a course we don’t play to often. It is real hilly all over. Normally we loose a lot of balls playing there. I will have to load up. LOL!

I hope to do maintenance on our lawn tractor this afternoon. It needs a new battery and oil change. Course I may wait and do this tomorrow. I may be to worn out from golf!

Thought for the day, some times you have to have a mind sat, that a bad day of golf is better than a good day at work

September

Hi gang, hope every one had a good weekend. Today is the last day of school for Megan. Long summer far a twelve year old who has discovered she can get a lot of attention from the boys. I have lost track of the number who call her every day.

The phone calls were so bad this weekend we had to restrict her calls. She can tie up a phone all day! She eats with it plays her computer games with it and on and on. We are thankful there hasn’t been any emergence calls trying to get through.

Currently we are looking at summer camps to get her evolved in. Softball, swimming, (boot camp with the Marines)! LOL! I never had problems finding things to do. I lived for the summer and put September out of my mind!

I know this is a common concern for every one with children but as adults get older it seams intensive. I don’t wont to be a stick in the mud but she is not going to run wild. We love her too much to let her do what ever!

Last year we got her a season’s pass at our amusement park. It is like six flags. It cost $48.00; this year it’s $75.00! They installed new rides and expand the water park. You no who is paying for it! Every thing is so expensive.

Thought for the day my grandpa use to say son, there is no time in live to be bored. Every day presents new opportunity!

Going Away

Hi gang, the going away party turned out to be eighteen people! One of the girls was an adult activity director at church but she was involved in a little of every thing she will be missed. Her and my wife, were very close.

The other couple closes friends of ours. They are going to live in Ohio in the summer and here in the winters. We new a lot of people in Chicago, that lived there in the summer and Florida in the winter.

Heck we have enough problems just keeping one place up. All though I would like to travel and see the country. When my wife hears me say that she says you mean you would like to play all the different golf courses! Well that wouldn’t be bad either!

Thought for the day, my grandpa use to say son, laughter is to the soul as my home brew is to the mind. A little of both is needed every day!

Two Words

Hi gang, I just saved you from a long post on two words that get under my skin. FILIBUSTER & LOBBYING. I was on my soaps ranting and ravening about how we worry about organized crime and what do you call this right under our noise! I got so caught up in the excitement I lost the post! LOL!

Not much going on, we are going to a going away party tonight. Will post about it tomorrow. Have a great weekend every one.

Understanding

Hi gang, I know your glade Friday is here. To me it has been another fast week. I feel much better today. I believe I have most of the cold meds. Out of my system. Meds. Can work wonders and cause havoc. I think most of us are aware of that.

We have learned many new medical terms about old illness in resent times.
Alzheimer, Autism, Bipolar, ADD, Depression and MD. We hear of these often but does the general public understand what a person goes through that has one are more of these problems.

Tinnutis is another illness we hear of but few have any idea what it’s like. I have had this most of my life caused by ear infections as a small child. I grew up with it and always thought the noise I hear was what silence sounds like! As I grew older I became more aware of my hearing loose.

Not many today have heard a short wave radio. The radio waves vibrate up and down in a wide spectrum of noise high and low. This is very similar to what I hear on a daily basic. Some times the noise over laps and I hear two or more sounds at the same time. The only relief I get is when I sleep. Recently however I have been awaken with the intense noise.

Caffeine, like of sleep, nerves, and anxieties all play a big roll in the intensity of the noise. Cure; there isn’t one to date. How do you cope with it? You do the best you can to ignore it! All my life I have wondered how people pick up on the words to a song, they here the words that I don’t understand.

Thought for the day, my grandpa use to say son, life is full of ups and downs, try your best to walk an even path!

Num feeling

Hi gang I am going to try not to take any cold med. today it makes me feel num all over. All I want to do is sleep. Cold meds. Don’t mix well with what I have to take every day.

Well this to will pass! I feel like a big woof, things like this throw me far a lop! I tried to get around to you guys yesterday and don’t know if I got to all are not. If I missed you big hug, I didn’t mean too.

Thought for the day, my grandpa use to say son, regardless of how you feel be thankful for another day!

Tuesday, May 17, 2005

Hi gang, I hope every one has had a good day. Hump day is coming up. You thought this was going to be a long week! Start making your planes now for the big weekend. Hard to believe this month is almost gone and school is almost out.

The old cold has gotten hold of me and I feel terrible. Sore throat and aching all over feel like a may have a low-grade fever. Hum… where have I heard this before. LOL!

Thought for the day, my grandpa use to say son, a cold is mostly in your mind, however it can be in your rear end!

Four

Hi gang yep; I was on the course this morning. We had an 8:50am T- time. We had a guest join us today. One of our buddies BIL came in from Akron Ohio far a visit. He took us to the cleaners. He said that was his pent up winter frustrations! (Didn’t make me feel better)

Hope every one has had a good weekend and back fighting for that pay- day. All of you that went out of town I hope to see some photos. K.

We had a storm go through Friday night and it sure cooled things of. I sleep with the windows open last night and woke up cold and with a sore throat! This has been one crazy spring!

Gees I stopped to think far a minute and almost went to sleep! Every one have a good week.

Thought for the day, my grandpa use to say son, if some one tells you take one day at a time, ask them if there is another way!

Graduation

Hi gang, Saturday flew by, what’s the old saying don’t blink you will miss it! We went to my niece’s graduation. They had a reception from three too five and ceremony from five to six thirty. Sure sign of getting old, I never saw so many beautiful girls in one place.

She belonged to a home school program and they had twenty-five Graduating. Each had a slide program of their life and told what it meant for them to be graduating high school. Let me tell you, the seat got mighty hard by the time they were through!

After that my wife, sister-in-law and I went to O’Charly’s for supper. Needless to say it was a long afternoon. We got back home and caught the last fifty laps of the Nextel race. I just member going to bed, I was out like a light!

Strange things at the Byron Nelson in Texas! All new names on the leader board but would not surprise me to see VJ jump up and take it. I hope all are having a good weekend. We had a storm go through about two this morning. It sure cooled of quick.

Thought for the day, spring, young people, love in the air, what a great time to be alive!

What goes up must come down

Hi gang, another weekend is opening up for you. Blogwalking today I see a lot of you are going to graduations this weekend. So are we my niece is graduating from high school. I know she is excited and can hardly wait.

Walking today was mesmerizing! The privet hedge is blooming and the honey suckles. The air is intoxicating. It makes me feel like I’m floating down the road. Spring is a wonderful time of the year a makes your heart feel young and vibrant. Love is in the air for the animals as well as for humans.

Reading a blog today made me sort of sad because it presented life’s paradox. We are all the same but different! We can perceive something and not one will be identical. Like fingerprints our thoughts are not alike. This being true how in the heck can we communicate. If I say the sun cast a brilliant glow on you, beautiful to behold! Do you know what I am saying or are you simulating what you think I said.

We see things differently because of our uniqueness! I don’t think this divides us but rather reveals a grater understanding of who we are. This is what makes the breathless feeling in our stomach when male and female touch! I prefer to think different but the same!

Thought far the day, grandpa use to say son. When you start to plow set you marks in front of you and don’t keep looking back!

Intoxicate

Hi gang, hope all had a good day, the weekend is on the horizon. The week sure has gone quick for me. I have done very little but clean and take care of the dogs.

I belive you will remember a couple of months ago I had central air installed. Well we have used the heat pump on several cool mornings. Today was suppose to hit 90*f so I sat the air to come on at one o’clock. It came on, me and the dogs like to freeze, they loved it. In fact they didn’t want to go outside. My wife came in from work and said it’s cold in hear! I sad tell me about it. I had the temp sat at 78*f but didn’t have the rooms where the thermostat is open so the air just keep running. How cold was it? I knew you would ask! At the thermostat it was 78*f. In the front of the house you could see your breath! My wife said have you been drinking and I sad it’s to dang cold to get drunk!

My grandpa use to say son, if you want air conditioning raise the window in your room!

Hi gang, hope every one has had a good hump day. We have had the great-grand kids today. Their parents are agreeing to disagree! Keep them in your prayers.

Not much to say today. Some times a picture is worth a thousands words. So I wiped up this stick drawing to show me walking.

The biggest horse fly I ever saw was determined to get a bite out of me. I am waving my cap and hands trying to keep it off me. Have you ever been bitten by a horse fly it hurts like %#@&* heck! I no all that saw me walking thought I had lost it!

Yep Seven Days

Hi gang, I hope every one had a great Mothers Day weekend! We had a good day. As usual, way too much to eat, I felt like a tick when I went to bed last night I was so full I had to skip desert! (Dang)

It’s nice of all the PGA tour players to keep giving VJ the game. Garza blew a six-shoot lead, Phil and Tiger showed up for publicity! Oh well I blew it again this week too. I was in the lead and blew it on the last three holes. I only play this game because I like to Yale at the ball! It never wants to go where I hit it.

Would you believe our seven-day forecast! RAIN EVERY DAY! QUACK QUACK!

Thought for the day, my grandpa use to say son, more girls get PG when it’s raining than any other time. You would think they would have figured that out by now!

Mothers Day

Hi gang, I hope all are having a good weekend. It sure is moving fast. Ball game Friday, got my flower garden planted, church and super with friends last night and Mothers Day today! Full weekend.

My son and I did watch the last 150 laps of the Nascar race. Biffle won another. I hit the bed about 10:30 and was out till around four this morning. I am sore in places I didn’t no I had!

Pleas don’t ask what is wrong with Tiger? So far the only thing he has done right is show up to play. I don’t think he needs to take a month at a time off!
Who am I too say with my game just a day makes a difference! LOL!

David’s article about the two who robed a grave and burned the body in a car made our paper here today. Our reporters must have been filling in space. I would like to cut out the paper and just have the sales sent. My luck the price would go up.

I have got to get moving we are going to my in-laws for the day. Happy Mothers Day to all you ladies and you single girls (((Hugs))) you have a good day too!

Thought for the day, my grandpa use to say son be kind on Mothers day, she didn’t pick you either!

Friday, May 06, 2005

Hi gang, I’m just coming in from M. Ball game. She got a hit and scored a run. She was so happy. (Course we were too!)

Thank ever one for your encouragement on my exercise I really do need it. I got it in again today. Walking is starting to affect my right hip but I don’t want to stop. That’s why I stopped walking. I will have to see how it goes.

This is gross but I didn’t take a picture you will just have to take my word for it. About a quarter mile from my house some one through out a catfish after flaying it. It has got to be one of the biggest I have seen The head was as large as a basket ball and about three and a half feet long! I stood there looking at this monster fish and the only thing I could say was gale!

I was asked what kind of flowers I am planting and I don’t remember the name of them. I will find out tomorrow and try to get some photos. I have a bad habit of not knowing when to quit when I am working out side. That’s when I over do it, my mind says ok but my body wants to no what the heck are you doing!

Thought for the day, my grandpa use to say son, the right time to stop is when you can’t see anymore!

Today is special for a lot of people. Cinco De Mayo, remembrance of the Canadian war dead in the Netherlands and the Holocaust remembrance.

The news here today has been bad, two killings and just heard about a charter bus accident. The news seems never to be good!

Thought for the day, how tired am I, so tired I may sleep in the recliner tonight it’s to far to my bed!

How far

Hi gang; I have started back my exercise program again. I walked 21/2 miles today and got stand up stretching in. Now if can just stay with it. I started again at least four times since xmass. When I was working I rarely missed a day, now I just can’t seam to get motivated.

I am going to try not to do too much at a time and build back up to where I use to be, if this old shell will take it. I know I will feel better and be able to walk on the golf course again. I had mush rather walk than ride.

I plum forgot about hump day until I stopped by to holler at Karen. I suppose life flies when your having fun. LOL! I was going to work in the garden today and got interested in Extreme golf make over! This guy married into a golf family and he didn’t no how to play. It was pretty good, hey it keep me in the house this afternoon.

Have all of you seen the new spring line of material? I fell in love with this new floral spring design…

FOUR

Hi gang, yep I did it, little on the cool side but a good day of golf is still better than chopping cotton. Hope every one has had a good day. Not much going on here Megan has ball practice so there is just me and my dogs tonight. I am trying my best to stay awake, the freash air does me in.

Three old ladies were sitting on a bench outside a nursing home. About then an old man walked by, and one of the old ladies said, "We bet we can tell how old you are."
The old man said, "There ain't no way you can guess it."
One of the old ladies said, "Sure we can. Drop your pants!" He did. The three ladies looked at him for a few moments and then the other lady said, "Take off your underwear."
The guy dropped his underwear and the old ladies stared at him for a while longer and then they all piped up and said, "You're 84 years old!"
The old man was stunned. "Amazing. How did you guess that?" The old ladies laughed, "You told us yesterday."

Thought for the day, on the way to the course today, two young deer bounced across the road in front of me. I smiled and in my mind I bounced with them through the woods!

Monday, May 02, 2005

Hi gang, well the visit from the grand sons is over and they are back in Chicago. They seem to have had a good time. It was go, go, go the whole time they were here. We never had them down when they were small and I really don’t know why! I so wish they would move here but it want ever happen. Their roots are deep in Chicago.

I have had an old head ach most of the weekend not because of them. They were no trouble at all. The house is lonely today. Megan back to school. My daughter is baby-sitting the twins and my wife back to work. Just the animals and me. Oh yes and the birds. I have enjoyed them this weekend. The doves don’t care much for my new feeder but all the other birds do. Even the squirrels like it! Every time I look out the window there is some one new at the feeder! I believe I have corned the area on blue birds. I have seen as many as 8 to 10 at a time.

It has turned off cool again. I have not been in a mood to work outside but I have got to get started on my flower garden. Some of my perennials are blooming already. I just feel sort of blasé!

A rocky won at golf and Jeff Gordon won again a Talladega. I think they need to check his car! He pulled away from them way to easy.
They need to check Erne Elle’s too. How can he win so big over there and be so other here?

Thought for the day, my grandpa use to say son, it’s good to be in the no but remember no one likes a no it all!
