Last post until we get back from Illinois. My Chicago grand daughter wants a southern home cooked meal today before we take her to meet her husband. What a menu!
Baby butter beans cooked in ham
Fried Okra with hot peppers
Fried potatoes with Cajon sausage
Philippine corn bread
Green onions and tomatoes
Cucumber and onions in cream souse
Bell pepper and onion Meat Loaf
Desert:
Lemon cake with icing
Blue Bell Banana split Ice-cream

I have to drive 450 miles tomorrow! I hope it cools off so I can crack the windows! LOL! All the kids will be here tonight for supper. Should be fun if we can keep the little ones from fighting.

I am going to leave it up to you guys to keep up with golf while I am gone. Women's British Open, Senior US Open and The Bell South Classic! I no you can handle it for me!

Thought for the day, my grandpa use to say son never travel far on a full stomach. You never no when nature will call!

Grass cutting was short yesterday! I did get the front cut before the moor deck belt broke. Now both tractors are down. It's too hot to cut grass anyway lol! The lake side will have to be cut with the bush hog and that means bil. when he can get by! The big tractor I don't even no how to start. Every thing on it has bin jury rigged and he's the only one that can drive the monster!
Well I will have to find something else to play with until we leave Friday morning! Any of you guys need a over weight old man for a couple of days? LOL! I am sure my wife has a honey do list waiting.

I wanted to get my car serviced at the Chevy dealer and couldn't get any one in service to answer the phone. After the third try I took the car to Quick oil change. I like to do this myself but my wife throws a fit every time I even think about it. One of our friends was killed working under his car, it fell on him! Since then she has been paranoid. I just hate to pay double for something I can do myself.

Well enough rambling, every one have a great hump day!

Thought for the day, my grandpa use to say son, when all the equipment is broken down stay away from the house!

Things will never be the same again. MIL was such a center in all our lives. My oldest BIL. has not been sober since the funeral. Course he never needed much of an excuse to drink himself sick. Needless to say the house is empty with out her. I don't no what the future holds. There is so much up in the air with her estate. My SIL can't afford to keep up the house the expense is just more than she can handle. The house alone needs extensive repairs. The outer buildings are falling apart. So much to do one person can't do it all. I feel the family will have to decide together what will be done with the property!

(I just tried to copy and paste a long post and lost half of it @#$%&*) I will give you a condensed version! We are taking my grand-daughter to meet her husband. Hooking up in Metropolis Ill. From there we are visiting old friends we knew in Chicago. They now live outside of Dickson, Tenn. We are so looking forward to getting away for a few days!

I have got to get the grass cut at the lake and hope I can keep a tractor running long enough. One is down waiting on parts. the other stops pulling when it gets hot. ( dumb automatic) We have had trouble with it from the get go!

How bout that Monday night golf! Phil and Goosen knocked off Tiger and Daily.

Thought for the day, my grandpa use to say, son always stop to smell the roses but don't get a bee in your noise!

Hi every one, MIL, passed away this morning and the family has spent the day making arrangements for her. Funeral will be Saturday morning. Needless to say every one is about worn out but she slipped away with no pain in her sleep. We are thankful for that, no more pain and suffering. The end of another era in our life.
I hope by next week I can get back to my blog. I miss it and all of you. This morning

I looked out the hospital window at the full moon and thought of each of you and how we have become connected over the last year. Time in cyber space has little meaning other than speaking to you now or tomorrow. We are separated by years and gender but our minds transcends our difference. We are one in our search for self expression and acceptance. One in this human condition, commutating un-thought of feelings and love to one another.

Thought for the day, "Be happy in the moment, that's enough. Each moment is all we need not more. Be happy now and if you love others, including those who are poorer than you, you'll give them happiness, too. It doesn't take much--it can be a just giving a smile. The world would be much better place if everyone smiled more. So smile, be cheerful, be joyous that God loves you." Mother Teresa.

Hi everyone, just a update so many want to know what is going on, I thank you for your support and prayers and stopping in to check on me and the family.

We moved MIL to a nursing home last Friday and by Sunday she was near death! They did little if any thing to help her. Her bowels were locked up and she choked on some food that got into her lungs! They moved her back to the hospital and worked with her all day Sunday and last night talking to my wife she seams to be responding. We are now back to someone with her around the clock. The family will get to gather and decide what to do from here. Needless to say this is coasting a lot of money and stand to loose every thing being eat up by Doctors and nurses. That is life! You do what you have to do and go on from there.

Me I have had vertigo problem and felt better yesterday and today so far. I have been trying to get off some of the meds. I am on and they will take me of one and add two! Currently I am Taking six prescription drugs plus vitamins. Sometimes you want to just stop every thing but I no I can't do that an function. I complain about being dizzy and three of my meds. can cause this problem. Depression is an on going battle! It's like trying to make a pet out of a rattle-snake! You always face the possibility of getting bit! Well enough complaining, I am trying to take one day at a time.

My grand-daughter came in Thursday with her three boys. Ages one, four and six. They are as cute of kids you will ever see. (bragging) LOL! I hope too get lots of pics. while they are here. Yesterday we were all at the lake except my wife who was at the hospital. Two daughters, two granddaughters, six great -grand kids and a nephew! Man talking about feeling old! But it was great having them all together!

Thought for the day, my grandpa use to say son, have lots of kids and you will live forever!

Hi every one it is with great sorrow that I am forced to back of my blog for what I hope is a short period of time. I am having med. problems my daughter is still having problems and mil is still in the hospital. They have had to hire sitters to come in and be with her. The family is just worn out. Someone has to be with her around the clock. She can't eat so today they are inserting a tube in her stomach to feed her. I don't no how much more she can take. It's tearing my wife's heart out to see her go through this. I hope to get around to see each of you as I can. See you on the flip side!

I told her tonight they need to hire out side help to come in and take care of her. There all going to get run down and sick!

I hope every one is doing ok, I cut grass all day yesterday today I and wore out! LOL! Have a good one be back as I can.

Thought for the day, I saw crows flying in the morning haze and thought this is going to be a good day!

Hi every one, I hope your weekend is proceeding well. Around our area we got started off with a bang. People were shooting fire works last night already! Did I tell you my dogs are terrified of guns and fire works!
I tried to get them out to do their business and they just stood at the door looking at me like are you kidding. You want me to go out there!
Update on MIL, they have moved her to a room. She is having trouble swallowing so they have a tube feeding her that asure stuff. She coming along, we hope they get her up and moving today. She is wanting to go home and is complaining about every thing! LOL! She is almost normal!
My wife came in this morning. She was there for the last 24 hours. Needless to say she is wiped out. I am trying to get her to just relax but that wont happen! Got o keep moving!
Thought for the day, what will you do when I die?...

A DINNER CONVERSATION GONE WRONG.....

WIFE: "What would you do if I died? Would you get married again?"

HUSBAND: "Definitely not!"

WIFE: "Why not - don't you like being married?"

HUSBAND: "Of course I do."

WIFE: "Then why wouldn't you remarry?"

HUSBAND: "Okay, I'd get married again."

WIFE: "You would? (with a hurtful look on her face)."

HUSBAND: (makes audible groan).

WIFE: "Would you sleep with her in our bed?"

HUSBAND: "Where else would we sleep?"

WIFE: "Would you replace my pictures with hers?"

HUSBAND: "That would seem like the proper thing to do."

WIFE: "Would you play golf with her?"

HUSBAND: "I guess so."

WIFE: "Would she use my golf clubs?"

HUSBAND: "No, she's left-handed."

WIFE: - - - silence - - -

HUSBAND: "Shit."

Well another week has flown by. I hope every one has a great holiday here and Canada. holidays mean fun and a chance to change pace of life far a lot of the working class. I ask that all of you think of the service personal and retailers who will not enjoy a long week end.
Who are these people? They are our cousins, aunts, uncles students and friends. The have not of our cityite. They fix our cars, cut our hair, serve us food and take care of us when we are ill. They put out our fires, protect us from harm and transport us across the world
When we get upset at them for not doing as we feel they should, do we think of what kind of a day there having? They are serving you not your servant! Oh how many times I have wanted to shove a hamburger in some irate customer face who got the wrong order. It was a mistake man! Have you never made a mistake. Does it make you feel good to embarrass a student who may have no choice in being there in the first place!

I personally believe every one in the world should be required to work in the service industry far a period of time to learn just how difficult it is to please someone. Some you can't please regardless! Every one needs to feel how bad it hurts to be humiliated by a customer.

Thought for the day, "The customer is always right"! I bet the person who coined this was never verbally cut to pieces by a customer. When you own the place it's easy to tell your employees this. I agree there is always a exception to the rule.
